The Global Alliance for Infections in Surgery is continuously developing collaborative projects aimed at improving the prevention, diagnosis, and management of infections in surgical patients and addressing the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance.
These initiatives bring together healthcare professionals from different disciplines and countries, combining research, education, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of evidence-based practices.
Major areas of activity are represented by antimicrobial stewardship in surgery and the prevention of healthcare-associated infections and surgical site infections.
Ten years after its establishment, the Global Alliance for Infections in Surgery is entering a new phase of its international development with the launch of a dedicated Global Health Section and the creation of the Health Without Borders Academy Hub.
This new initiative builds on the Alliance’s experience in surgical infections, AMR, research, and education while expanding its activities to address the increasingly interconnected challenges affecting health worldwide.
The Health Without Borders Academy therefore represents a natural evolution of the Global Alliance for Infections in Surgery towards a broader Global Health perspective.
